Halloween

Another Halloween weekend.  I love when Halloween is on the weekend.  Yesterday, was very busy.  I often wonder how things could get any busier or if life is ever going to get less hectic......  Saturday, we started out at Murphy's last flag football game, came home & quick ate & changed & went to Hamel's Halloween walk.  It is a Hamel business sponsored Halloween walk.  I had to hand out treats, the kids came along & walked thru & then played on the playground until it was time to head to Justin's 5th birthday party.  After the party, we came home, ate & changed again & headed out trick or treating.

It is so fun to see all the kids in costume & watch them get so excited over candy.  At 7 1/2, it is much easier to "train" the kids to ask nicely, say thank you, take what they give you, don't ask for more, & just put it in your bag & we will look at it when we get home.  This year we made it 5 streets before they were too tired to walk.  Each year we add another street.  We always end up @ Aunt Donna & Papa Gene's.  The kids love to open the door to the trick or treaters there & hand out candy.

So, today is Halloween.  We are finishing weekend chores around the house, doing homework, spelling tests, laundry, dishes, etc. before we head to the Halloween parade.  Each year we are able to go to a friends house for supper & to the LONG parade afterwards.  The kids get more candy than they know what to do with.  They are already looking forward to sending some to the troops & giving the rest to the Halloween Witch who comes every year & trades candy for a group present.
