Recently, the farm ground across the street from our house was sold to Dr. Drake. He is working on clear cutting the land & burning the trees & adding irrigation drainage. He seems to do this with all the frm ground he purchases. This has really added to our conversations around the house lately. The kids are very concerned.
What does he think he is doing cutting down all of God's creation? Doesn't he know God wanted the trees there & the animals live there? What is going to happen to the animals that live there? Their habitat is being ruined. Where will the squirrels & raccoons & skunks go? Will we die because we are losing oxygen? Did you know that trees are necessary for people to live? They produce oxygen & we need oxygen to breathe. So if he keeps cutting down all the trees, we will have no clean air to breathe. What is he thinking? Who will talk to him & explain to that man that we need the trees. It is not safe to have all this dirt with no trees. And the conversations go on.......
The kids really have me thinking about this. It is amazing how much they know about the earth & the environment. They are all 3 very concerned about saving the world. I guess the "go green" & "reduce, recycle & reuse" concepts are really hitting home.
Another conversation we had yesterday was about dr.'s & surgery. The kids' past Kindergarten teacher is getting ready for hip replacement surgery next week. We have already added her to our prayers.
Dr.'s are very helpful & they can fix things even in a body with metal. Did you know that sometimes there is metal inside of people's bodies. It can fix sockets & joints & hold things into place. You know you have to get cut before you can get metal put into you. Then, the dr. will work very hard to fix it so you can walk again & your cut will get sewn with string or mybe staples & you will get better.
Who knows, maybe I will have a dr. & a conservationist someday.
